Mobile Reporting Project

On Monday each of us were tasked with heading out to a different part of the campus and finding a story there to report on using a mobile device such as our cellphones. We used the website Tumblr to send text, audio, pictures or video from our reporting in the field. My story was based in the Hammer computer lab and was regarding the possible health concerns that may come from having so many people constantly together in a confined space, especially in the wake of the recent swine flu worries. First, I approached the staff of the computer lab and asked if any of them would like to take part in an audio interview on the subject. I dialed the tumblr service and then asked my questions to the staff member in order to record them. Once that was done, I took several pictures of various elements of the computer lab, such as some students working as well as the sanitary wipes that are used to clean the keyboards and prevent the spread of germs from user to user. I sent all of these items in to my Tumblr page using my phone.
